Someone very close to me has given me a stern warning again to be careful in general when encountering someone unless he really makes efforts to show his intentions are benign. I agree that nothing of that sort has come my way at all. I will be careful, though it is sad because I still love this person and it is hard to put away that I felt, once, such a measure of safety.
I hope things turn out okay and I do not have to be so concerned about this sort of possibility, that one day there can be trust again.
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
