Crazy

Well, we live in historic times, don't we? So much upheaval in the world, reminding me of when I was fourteen and Watergate happened. My relatives were overwhelmed and frightened. I knew something very bad was happening, because my older sister told me that Nixon was a crook. I clearly remember my mother watching at least some of the Watergate hearings.

Then on August 8, 1974, my mother and I sat watching Nixon's resignation speech. I was a young teenager, but still I knew the import of what was happening.

I haven't really slept well in a couple of years, my days tinted with dread that contracts as I try to distract myself. Forcing myself to garden, to do the things I love. Years now where I have felt unable to really tell my thoughts, my opinions, in this blog.

Historic times...the likes of which I hope will never happen again!

Whew, I'll certainly second what you said about hoping this never happens again...Dreading the outcome of the next Presidential election because it's looking more and more every day like #45 is not only maintaining but is gaining traction enroute to another win in 2020. I don't think our democracy can survive another 4 years of his Administration's proto-fascism.
