Sometimes the Topix board for Ben Lomond really is the place to get news about the McClish trial. Someone has posted that forensic results are now trickling into the D.A.'s office from the state crime lab. This might be extremely good news for eventually getting some resolution with Asha Veil's murder--or at least more information.
I do plan to go to whatever hearing is going to be held on August 3rd, but I have begun to have a major struggle this week with both of the usual ailments (lupus and fibromyalgia). I am trying to stay home (having to miss all my exercise classes so far this week), can't drive, can't be in the sun (lupus is worsened by sun exposure), trying to take things easy--and as many of you who know me realize, this is very hard for me to do. I feel like the kid on the margins of the playground, looking on. Still, I am grateful there ARE times I do not have to be like this. When my body screams at me to slow down, I slow down and accept what I can't change today. Still, if it turns out I can't go, I will give a recap from the good folks over at the Topix message boards, who often give excellent summaries of what goes on in court.
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
