Hi, everyone from under the grading mountain. So much to do in two days. I will be up late on this cold evening.
No one at my university (at least amongst the lecturers) knows if they have a job next semester, or how much work there will be. When I learned that I might not have my course assignments til June, I decided to respond with a positive heart. Logically, past experience has shown me I have never fallen. I trust the department to at least try to keep its staff in place--besides, the chair always paid me a visit in my office when he felt that he could not hire me again, and it always turned out that he could. And last year I got creative writing as my course to teach.
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
