I have again found myself an insomniac...I find that singing really energizes me and Sunday nights after Voice Weavers tend to last well into the wee hours. I wanted to share another piece from The Rose Ensemble. I like early American music and, as I continue to sing, I remember more about the music I was learning years ago in college. We spent several weeks every semester on early American music and I found both my voice and ear were really attuned to it, so
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
