There is no way to banish a person from dreams. Last night--actually a few times now--I have dreamed of the person I am grieving. I think it is hard for me because when this happens, I miss this person the next day and am also reminded of them, and it feels like a step back. Probably I am feeling vulnerable also because of the annoying health problems.
Some days (as I've said so much over the last few) are like this. The trick is to just get through.
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
