Lupus chemo does strange things, like make me easily winded. I still go to Haitian dance on Fridays despite that. It is my "hug" class and I am starting to have many friends. We had our (woman) instructor from Haiti today....I love to experience a woman's perspective for this dance.
I keep telling myself I am getting stronger. I am. I had a grief upwelling tonight but took a long drive on a back road called Granite Creek and saw an owl flying along.
Now to finish that poem for my writing group tomorrow...
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
