Tiger

Delving into court records tonight, I mark how many times Asha's killer harassed young women he fixated on: at least a dozen times, maybe more. He had a penchant for very young women, though his intention towards them was not like an old geezer grooming a 21 year old with flattery and attention in order to inch closer to them, thinking they can score.

Those deluded guys think the young ladies are so very attracted to them because the women are friendly or polite (which Old Guy misconstrues as flirting).  In reality, what do you think those young ladies are doing?  Hanging out and having fun with their peer group, and not giving Thought One most of the time to the old geezer except as an uncle-or-grandpa type of guy who says nice things to them. It's an utter embarrassment to watch a mature person make a fool of themselves in that way.

Sorry to be judgmental, but I have been told many, many times by young women that they find this sort of behavior repellent when Old Guy's motives come to light--that they aren't interested in the young woman's intelligence or whatever, but are in reality hitting on them like every other creep.  These young women often question whether they brought that on by something they said or did. No one should ever have to feel that way about themselves (Old Guy couldn't care less about that one, either, just the effects on him).

But McClish: he seems to have lived his life as if he were a tiger creeping around and watching who was vulnerable. He wasn't a senior citizen thinking he's twenty years old again. McClish watched, and he waited, and sometimes he took the kamikaze approach of harassing anyone he could.  That he remained employed for years in a position where he had access to the public is so shameful on the part of employers.  Surely he knew how to manipulate their sympathy, or exploited the kindness and understanding of nice people. But his employers should have known better.  And a young woman and her child are gone partially because of this ignorance.
