I got two hours of sleep last night, and two the night before (for no fun reason, just uncomfortable with the heat).
Despite all that, Thistle and I had a wonderful afternoon at a local spot, The Seymour Marine Center, a very kid-friendly aquarium run by the University of California, Santa Cruz. I got by with a sense of humor and a lot of coffee.
Every day I think I cannot do this, raising her, I find at the end of the day, I've got the strength to continue.
Thank the Goddess, eh?
My name is Joan McMillan and this blog is, as Emily Dickinson says, "my letter to the world." I am currently working on a nonfiction book about the murder of a young woman, Asha Veil, born Joanna Dragunowicz, and her unborn daughter, Anina, on September 9, 2006. My book is meant to honor her life and illuminate the need to create a safer world for women and children.
