White Rose

Here is a gorgeous white rose, one of the first on this rosebush.  This is called "Elena" and is from an old, established rose that was here before I moved in.  I have ten rosebushes, including the miniatures in containers.  Only a few of them are "cutting" roses so far.  Probably that will increase as I get the roses into larger tubs.  90 percent of my garden is in containers; I am always conscious of being able to take my garden with me should I ever have to move.

This is the first year I will not be picking a weekly rose and giving it to someone special for a gift.  Still, I can watch these beautiful flowers grow.

In other news, I had a wonderful breakfast near the ocean with my friends from Calla Lily Tribal Dance.  Our director, Laura, is definitely going to start up again with us in 2015, and is learning all sorts of dance styles, doing yoga, etc.  She will be having a big campout party at her home in July and I am definitely going, as we will be dancing there also.

Alice Walker once said, "The way forward is with a broken heart."  I think that, this time, my heart will never unbreak completely.  But still, I can walk, and I can dance, and life is definitely not finished with me yet.
